 At the request of Governor Abbott, TEA is leading a task force on school mental health supports. The role of the task force is to help identify, mobilize, coordinate, and connect resources to aid local education agencies in addressing mental health and behavioral health needs for both students and staff.

The following  link is  a TEA survey for gathering information related to school mental health challenges and needs.

Attention Parents of Students Leaving Grades K-5, 

We currently have openings for students in our Summer Boost Camp.  Summer Boost is free and breakfast, lunch and transportation are provided.  More details are included below.  If you are interested in your student attending APISD’s Summer Boost Camp, please contact Shelley Dominguez at sdominguez@apisd.org or (361)758-4200 ext. 131.   Selections will be made based upon availability.

School Bus Transportation Services 
Aransas Pass I.S.D.
Summer 2018

 School bus route service will be available for ONLY those students that are registered to attend the APISD Summer Boost Program 2018 that is being conducted at the Charlie Marshall Elementary campus.  A bus transportation request form will need to be completed when registering the student for this program.  The centralized bus stops will be posted soon.

 Children that are registered for the Aransas Pass For Youth Summer Camp Program 2018, that is taking place at the A.C. Blunt Middle School campus, DO NOT QUALIFY for school bus route transportation services.   The transportation needs of the children that are registered for this program will be the responsibility of the parents/guardians.

APISD 2018 Bilingual/English as a Second Language Summer School Program
 

The district provides a summer school opportunity at no cost to learners who are classified as ESL who were in grades PK and Kindergarten during the 2017-2018 school year (rising Kindergartners and First Graders in the 2018-2019 school year.)

Bus transportation will be provided; once your child is signed up for summer school, you will receive a form on pickup/drop off times and locations.

The Pre-K and Kindergarten Bilingual/ESL Language Summer Program is an opportunity for students to receive instruction designed to prepare them for  Kindergarten and First Grade.

For students who have not attended school previously and need to be identified as English learners please contact Naomi Freeze at 361.758.3466 ext. 166.

The Aransas Pass Independent School District is in the process of identifying Kindergarten through twelfth grade students for the district’s Gifted and Talented Program designed to meet the needs of students according to the state’s definition of a “student who, performs at or shows the potential for performing at a remarkably high level when compared to others of the same age.  The student may demonstrate, singularly or in combination, above-average achievement or potential in such areas as general intellectual ability, creativity, artistic ability or specific subject matter aptitude.”

 

Any parent or teacher who chooses to nominate a student in grades K-12 may do so by completing the nomination form.  Parents may secure a nomination form and characteristics of a gifted and talented student from the campus counselor or principal where their student(s) attends.
