Serving Panther Nation Kathy Reeves Instructional Coach Aransas Pass ISD

Aransas Pass ISD Superintendent Dr. Glenn Barnes has announced the hiring of Kathy Reeves to serve as the District’s Math Specialist and Instructional Coach, a new position funded through the Learning Acceleration Support Opportunities (LASO) Grant. Reeves is being appointed after serving as Assistant Principal at Charlie Marshall Elementary School. Reeves will report to Heather Waugh-Hurta, Director Curriculum and Instruction.

Reeves has 19 years of experience in the field of education. Prior to serving as Assistant Principal at Charlie Marshall Elementary, Reeves served as Texas Lesson Study and High Quality Instructional Materials (HQIM) Lead, Effective Schools Framework Diagnostician Facilitator, and Education Specialist THL Eureka Math Specialist at the Region 2 Education Service Center in Corpus Christi, Texas. Reeves served students at Gregory-Portland ISD as a K-5 Math Gap Intervention Specialist, and at Ingleside ISD as a Fifth and Sixth Grade Math Teacher, Math Department Chair, and Grade Level Chair. She earned a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Lamar University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Columbia Southern University. 

Reeves and her husband are lifelong residents of the coastal bend. In their spare time, they enjoy traveling, gardening, spending time with their two sons, daughter-in-law, and their two Australian cattle dogs.
