Serving Panther Nation Jodie Algueseva Assistant Principal A.C. Blunt Middle School

Aransas Pass ISD Superintendent Dr. Glenn Barnes has announced the hiring of Jodie Algueseva to serve as Assistant Principal at A.C. Blunt Middle School. Algueseva is being appointed after serving as Principal at Faulk Elementary School.

Algueseva has 16 years of experience in the field of education. Algueseva earned a Bachelors of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies with an emphasis in Early Childhood Education from Texas A&M University Corpus Christi University, and a Master of Science in Educational Administration from Lamar University.

Algueseva previously served as an Elementary Special Education Teacher at Corpus Christi ISD, and joined Panther Nation in 2014, serving as an Inclusion Teacher for Special Education students Aransas Pass High School and as the Secondary Special Education Coordinator. Algueseva has served for seven years as a campus administrator at Kieberger and Faulk Elementary Schools, in both Assistant Principal and Principal roles.

Algueseva said her personal leadership philosophy “is like a road map. It will define what you expect, what you value, and how you act. Your leadership philosophy will let others know what to expect from you as their leader.”

“I believe leaders are people who know how to achieve goals and inspire others along the way,” said Algueseva. “My philosophy of leadership is collaborating within a group. In utilizing each other’s strengths I believe you offset individual weakness. As a leader I am hands-on and have an open door policy. I work hard to ensure that students come first and that as a district and community we are making student-centered decisions. The door to my office is always open to students, teachers, parents, and community members.”

Algueseva has been married since 2004; she and her husband have been blessed with two great children, Dax and Zurie. Algueseva enjoys watching and coaching her children in baseball, soccer, basketball, volleyball, hunting, stock shows, and fishing. Algueseva is a very active parent in the Aransas Pass community, and believes that keeping our children involved in extracurricular activities is vital for their education, teaching responsibility and collaboration which is important on and off the field, court, and in the classroom.
