Serving Panther Nation Dr. Alma Williams Assistant Principal Charlie Marshall Elementary School

Aransas Pass ISD Superintendent Dr. Glenn Barnes has announced the hiring of Dr. Alma Williams to serve as Assistant Principal at Charlie Marshall Elementary School. Williams is being appointed after serving as a 504 Dyslexia Facilitator and Dyslexia Teacher.

A native of the Coastal Bend, Williams has an extensive array of experience over 31 years in the field of education. Williams earned both her Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education with a focus in Reading, and her Master of Education, from Texas State University in San Marcos. She earned her Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Literacy Studies from Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi.

Williams began her teaching career at Spring Branch Elementary at Houston ISD where she taught 2nd grade for six years. As her educational career flourished, she taught grades 1st through 9th, in subject areas including English Language Arts, Social Studies, Math, 504/Dyslexia, English as a Second Language, and Gifted and Talented, before beginning her experience with administration at Corpus Christi ISD as an Elementary Assistant Principal. Williams has a combination of over 20 years of administration and specialist experience, serving as an Assistant Principal, Creativity, Innovation, and Design Coach, Reading Specialist, Learning Interventionist, and Learning Lab Director.

Williams joined Panther Nation in 2021, serving as the District Literacy Specialist. Her interest and specialization in reading edifies her leadership and teaching approach, as she views literacy as the foundation of academic progress.

Williams believes that a collaborative school environment is fundamental in creating effective support for the success of teachers and all students. She believes creating a positive environment and inviting relationships with families and the community are essential to enriching the educational experience at Charlie Marshall Elementary.

During her free time, Williams enjoys watching movies, reading, and attending church with family.
