The Aransas Pass ISD Board of Trustees unanimously passed the budget for the 2024-2025 fiscal year during their August 28, 2024 Public Hearing and Special Meeting. The budget is based on a maintained tax rate of $0.808800. The district has maintained or reduced the tax rate annually since 2019.
When developing the 24-25 budget, the Board of Trustees and APISD administration prioritized improving staff compensation, based on responses received from the internal staff survey conducted in Spring 2024.
The budget includes a pay increase of 2% on the midpoint, a step, and a 2% adjustment to teacher steps, a pay increase of 2% in hourly pay for all hourly employees, and a 2% increase on the midpoint for administration and central office staff.
Superintendent Dr. Glenn Barnes expressed his gratitude, saying “I'm super thankful to work with a school board and district leadership team who values employees. The budget we created meets the district's needs and supports our staff. Now that we have met our short-term fiscal priorities, we will continue striving toward our long-term financial goals for students, staff, and facilities.”
